Research
The aim of our research is to develop new therapies for prostate cancer and ultimately, find a cure.
The formation of a dedicated prostate cancer research consortium in Victoria will provide a vital boost to understanding the fundamental mechanisms underlying prostate cancer development, its spread throughout the body and the mechanism contributing to treatment resistance.
The integrated team approach will enhance collaboration and, through its strengths in translational research, will fast track laboratory-based discoveries into the clinical development pipeline.
Close collaborative networks between diverse groups of the VPCRC that span the gamut of basic and clinical science will be fostered and encouraged to share ideas. As such the VPCRC will be a general catalyst for future translational research efforts.
